FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
about therapy services
WHY GO TO THERAPY?
There are many misconceptions about therapy, like that it's only for people who are "crazy" or that people should just fix their own problems. The truth is that anyone can benefit from therapy. If you feel overwhelmed, your problems aren't getting better despite your best efforts, you find it difficult to concentrate, you worry excessively, or you notice that your actions are not benefiting your life and maybe harming yourself or others, then it might be time to contact a therapist. Research has shown that most people benefit substantially from therapy and that this is independent of the type of therapy used.
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE?
This depends on many factors, including how clear you are about what you want to get out of therapy, your motivation to change, the intensity and severity of your problems, and the fit between you and your therapist. This is why it is important to be open and communicative with your therapist about your goals and reasons for treatment. However, most people see benefits in just a few sessions. A good therapist will help you determine when it is appropriate to end treatment.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I'VE FOUND THE RIGHT THERAPIST?
Looking for a therapist is a little bit like dating. You have to put yourself out there and just try different therapists before finding "the one." Nonetheless, there are a few tips that might be helpful. First, look for a therapist who specializes in the problem you are seeking help for. You might consider looking at therapist directories like Inclusive Therapists, Therapy Den, or Good Therapy for specific specialties. However, ultimately, it's important to trust your instincts because, for therapy to be effective, you need to feel like you can trust your therapist.
WHAT ARE YOUR FEES? AND DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Fullchange Therapy uses a model in which people pay what they believe therapy is worth to them. Fullchange Therapy does not take insurance, but you may be eligible to be directly reimbursed by your insurance. More information about insurance and fees is available here.
WHAT FORMS DO I NEED TO COMPLETE?
All forms are completed electronically via a secure easy-to-use online portal and include, at minimum, informed consent, intake forms, and a fee agreement.
